Getting started!

What do you need to think of before you step on the stage?

What is your topic? – What is the message you want to teach or get out there?

Who is your ideal target audience? “Everyone” is not an option – be specific. i.e.Self employed women aged between 25-45. You can be more specific and it doesn’t mean you need to exclude everyone else, you do need to know who you are directing your marketing at.

When do you plan to present? 2 weeks? 2 months? Be realistic – are you going to be able to fill a room of 5000 in 2 weeks? No – unless twice that many know and admire you already.

How do you want to present your message? On a physical stage, online, video, on the radio? Your needs will be different for each.

What do you need to learn before you step on your platform? You don’t need to know it all now, and your job will be easier if you know what you need to learn before you start.

Who is your team? Getting on any platform is very difficult to do alone.  Choose to work with people you trust and admire, even if you aren’t able to pay them first time.  Look after your team!
